It's time for another installment of FLY WITH ME FRIDAY!!!! I know you've missed it, so I brought it back with a place that isn't TOO far from Indianapolis: St. Louis, Missouri!
Around 245 miles and about 4 hours from Indy, this is one location that's easy to visit with tons of free activities for anyone - I went 2 times in one year...that's how cool it is (Or maybe I had already gone with my boyfriend and my family wanted to have a little family vacay there too, that might be why I went 2 times in one year, but that's neither here nor there!). Below I will discuss some of the stuff there is to do!
This place is one of the places you have to pay to get into, but trust me - it's awesome! Beautiful grounds with Chihuly Art scattered around! Tickets are $12 to get in, but you could spend hours walking around this place!
There is also a Butterfly House at the Botanical Gardens, this is $6 admission and you can have butterflies land on you! It's pretty neat!
I don't know if y'all know it or not, but St. Louis is home of Budweiser! They have tours of their factory, which I went on (AND are FREE and you get 2 free beers!), but even better than that is Grant's Farm! They have animals you can pet, you get to see all the cool old Budweiser stuff, see the Budweiser horses also known as Clysdales, which are beautiful and big creatures, and you can top the day off with 2 free beer's, thank you very much!
Anyone from Indy will appreciate this: Here come the mummies! (This was actually at Grant's Farm!)
This zoo is actually free, all you have to do is pay something like $15 for parking - which isn't bad, because you can have 10 people in your car and only pay $15 for everyone! It's huge and there are lots of animals! One of my favorite zoo's I've been to!
This is an outdoor sculpture park with lots of huge sculptures and art installations all around. It's completely free and a great activity!
This is such a cool "garden" - it's right downtown in the middle of everything and has a bunch of art. I think St. Louis has a really great art scene!!
No trip to St. Louis would be complete without a trip to the Arch! Of course you have to take a ride up in one of the legs of the arch, in some tiny ball that you're supposed to trust, to see the top of it, but what's the big deal about that!? (I had a little freak out because in our ball was some little kids that were like "What if this drops on our way up?"...thank you little kid for voicing my concerns!)
And these are from the top: Trust me, if you're claustrophobic, you are going to feel it up here! But it is pretty neat, and I'm glad I can say I've done it!
Thanks for traveling with me! Since you're already here, why don't you just it the "Add comment" button below and leave some love or share with your friends on facebook if you enjoy this series! -Abby
